In 2025, the College officially became a full member of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA), headquartered in the United States. In both curriculum design and student development, the College demonstrates capabilities fully aligned with international standards.
The College is structured around three core academic units: the Department of Diplomacy, the Graduate Institute of East Asian Studies, and the Graduate Institute of Russian Studies. In addition, it offers the International Studies English-Taught Master's Program, the Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Japanese Studies, the Master's Program in Middle Eastern and Central Asian Studies, the European Union Studies Credit Program, and two in-service master's programs in Strategic and International Affairs, as well as National Security and Mainland China Studies. Together, these programs aim to nurture talent across a broad range of international affairs–related fields.
All academic units within the College boast long and distinguished histories, and their alumni are active across Taiwan and worldwide in diverse professional sectors. Established in 1930, the Department of Diplomacy is one of the earliest departments at National Chengchi University and remains the only academic department in Taiwan explicitly named "Diplomacy." Through its undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs, it has trained numerous professionals with strong theoretical foundations and practical expertise in diplomatic affairs. Founded in 1968, the Graduate Institute of East Asian Studies is a leading center for research on Mainland China, with its graduates widely engaged in teaching and research related to China studies both domestically and internationally. The Graduate Institute of Russian Studies, established in 1994, is a prominent institution for research on Russia and Central and Eastern Europe. In 2011 and 2012, the College successively launched the Japanese Studies Degree Program and the International Studies English-Taught Master's Program, which have since become important hubs for related research at home and abroad. The College's in-service master's programs are also highly regarded by society and have contributed significantly to the cultivation of professional talent in both the public and private sectors over the years.
National Chengchi University is one of Taiwan's leading universities in the humanities and social sciences, offering an outstanding humanistic and natural environment along with comprehensive teaching and library resources. Fully aligned with international standards, the College of International Affairs features distinguished faculty, well-structured academic programs, and forward-looking, comprehensive curricula.
