Center for India Studies aims at promoting research and teaching of South Asia affairs. The Center focuses particularly on India foreign policy, India-Pakistan militarized conflicts, ethnic relations in South Asia nations, alignment policies of Pakistan and India, economic development in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, security related to Nepal, Bhutan, and India. The Center also encourages students who are interested in South Asia affairs to study or have exchange to universities in India. The College of International Affairs currently have an exchange MoU with Jindal Global University in India.
The Center was established under the auspice of Dr. Deng-Ker Lee, who served as the director. Ping-Kuei Chen became the director in 2021. With the support of College of International Affairs, the Center will continue to fulfill its mandates, cultivating more researchers and quality researches.
The Center has established partnership with Taiwan-India Study Association. Together with many other experts in Taiwan, the Center will promote India Studies and South Asia studies in Taiwan. The Center welcomes visiting researchers who are interested in conducting field research in Taiwan. The Center will provide academic support within our reach.
