Center Overview
One of the most important themes in 21st-century international relations research is the rise of mainland China and its impact on global political dynamics. Taiwan’s academic community has accumulated substantial strength and produced highly in-depth research in the broader field of China Studies. Among these, the Institute of East Asian Studies at National Chengchi University has, since its founding, developed distinctive research channels and methodologies. These have been passed down across generations through both traditional academic mentoring and modern teaching approaches, while also attracting increasing attention from the international academic community and strengthening connections with the global field of international relations.
Against this background, the College of International Affairs at National Chengchi University established this research center to consolidate existing research capacity, expand and deepen exchanges among scholars of different generations and professionals with diverse academic training, and enhance interaction and collaboration with similar research institutions both within and outside the university. The center also seeks to broaden engagement with regional and global international relations communities, increase the global visibility of Taiwan’s China Studies, and attract more international institutions and talent for collaboration.
