Center Overview

The Center for Global Political Economy Development and Regional Studies at the College of International Affairs, National Chengchi University was established to enhance understanding of regional political and economic dynamics, improve learning outcomes, enrich teaching experience, and promote a strong research culture. The center’s development focuses on integrating both individual and cross-regional political and economic developments across major regions, including Africa, the European Union, Latin America, the Middle East, North America, Northeast Asia, Russia and Eastern Europe, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Australia–New Zealand and the Pacific Island countries. It aims to serve as a foundational platform for regional studies in the future.

Looking ahead to regional development in the 21st century, the center seeks to invite scholars and experts to join, contribute their professional research and teaching insights, promote academic publications in related fields, and enhance teaching quality. At present, the center’s core activity is the annual “Middle East and Africa International Conference” held each spring, with the goal of continuously expanding its teaching and research capacity in the future.
